Danish Cord

A family of lights I designed for Snape Matings in Suffolk in 2019.

Inspired by the reed beds and early modernism by the architect Derek Sugden, from Arup Associates, who re designed the Festival Hall in 1970,s.

Danish Cord, is more familiar with early modernist furniture.

It is a waxed paper, a lovely natural material.

Here we weave it around a metal frame.

All hand made and woven in Norfolk.

The light produced is lovely and warm interesting with light and shadow

Can also work as a pendant shade.
