Borough Family
Borough double headed wall light
The Borough Family has developed into a family of luminaries.
Features and History
Initially commissioned for a Levantine inspired restaurant in Borough Market, London in the railway arches.
There is a raw industrial early modernist feel to a simple engineered range of lighting, designed to highlight the roots of the market and Beirut in the 1970”s.
The simplicity of these pieces are their charm, the shade helps direct the light down, whilst the slit in the top allows for some top light leakage, the shade flap, can be turned to allow to direct light from the front.
All made from brass, shapes are designed and laser cut and the folded shades help control and direct the light.
The brass is then hand polished, which can be left to patinated naturally, or a clear lacquer applied to hold the gold colour.
The brass can be patinated to nearly black, or silver plated.
The brass tube arms can be made in various lengths and configurations, single headed or double headed, as wall lights or designed in configurations for pendant lights.
I have used the Borough wall light with Horn shade and Danish Cord shades.
All my lights are handmade and therefore made to order for further information on this family and for trade or private enquiries or to discuss a project;
