Shell wall light, which houses a tea light. in hand polished brass with a treated Scallop shell or a Native Oyster Shell.

There is an element of my work where incorporating what nature has made to be the most honourable form.

The mirrored polished brass back is asymmetrical and helps reflect the candle light.

The design journey for these started in 2020.

I started with the scallop shells , which I treat to achieve a chalky finish, and then locally I have been finding ancient oyster shells from the old Norfolk Oyster beds.

All are hand made in Norfolk.

These are made for candles or wired in 240v, we can also make for IP44 rated , so suitable for bathrooms.

Scallop shell with G9 lamp, 240v, electric version.

Dimmable.

made from large white treated scallop shells, treated to give a chalky finish.

The hand polished asymmetrical back plate reflects the luminance.

Current wiring are G9 lamps 4 watts and 450 lumens, equivalent to a 40 watt incandescent.

These have an opal glass tube, which hides the lamp.

I can now wire for 12volt, 450-500 lumens , dimmable and therefore more suitable for bathrooms.

Silver plated versions available.
