Bole is inspired by an Etruscan Shield, a pared back simple sculptural form , balanced by a single brass pole and brass ball.

The materials used help define its shape and presence.

Hand curved and then carved , the edges are sanded back to a feathered edge.

Bole, which is used in water gilding and is an earth pigment is applied, 3-4 coats, when dry it is then polished by a wool cloth.

We then apply a coat of beeswax to protect.

Each one is handmade and unique, we can mirror for a pair.
